Today I’m linking up with my girls Shay and Sheaffer for another round of “What’s Up Wednesday”! These sweet gals started WUW, a little link up party where we all share what’s going on in our crazy lives right now. We talk about food, family, what we’re wearing, what we’re doing, what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post! It’s been a long time since I’ve shared, so let’s dive in!!
WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK: I thought it would be fun to start sharing what Bryn eats too! Honestly, I get like 90% of what Bryn eats from Costco. And for some reason I had been putting off trying Instacart…why did I wait so long?! I used Costco’s Instacart last week and my entire order was on my front porch within 45 minutes of ordering. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT: Our super fun, crazy trip to Utah last month! My baby sister got married and we were all together in St George for the first time in what felt like forever. My mom, sisters, aunt and I made all the food and the wedding cake! Our husbands helped with the decor and big projects like the neon sign, pallet backdrop and giant marquee letters. We were crazy busy getting things ready, but we managed to squeeze a bunch of fun in to! We celebrated my mom’s birthday, my sister’s birthday and even had a little early birthday party for Bryn.
WHAT I’M LOVING: This summer weather! We have been to the pool so many times and Bryn is now obsessed with it. She loves just floating around in her inflatable seat, being thrown in the air from daddy to mommy and splashing around with her cousins!
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO: Bryn turned one!! I honestly can’t believe how fast the last year has gone by! In some ways I also feel like she’s been part of our family forever. We were able to have a fun celebration with family in Utah and then a cute little party with our family and a few friends here. My amazing sister in law and sister made the cutest cakes and cupcakes for the parties! Bryn was so spoiled and probably won’t remember most of it, but we had a blast celebrating our sweet little girl!
WHAT I’M DREADING: Our home flooded back in February during the crazy freeze that hit Texas. We’ve been living out of suitcases for seven weeks, bouncing around from house to house while repairs are being done. While we are super grateful for everyone’s hospitality and kindness in letting us stay in their homes, we are so ready to have a home of our own again! So I’m dreading the next few weeks, hoping that it will go by quickly and that we can get back into our home soon!!
WHAT I’M WORKING ON: I saw THE CUTEST dresser on Instagram (@ciarachanelself) and knew I wanted to make one! This gal did an IKEA hack for the Tarva Dresser and I’m obsessed. You can see the tutorial here. We assembled the dresser and began cutting out the center of the drawer faces this last weekend. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT: My baby sis that just got married is moving here with her husband this week and we are all so stoked to have them here!
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING: I’m rewatching “Heartland” on Netflix. New seasons of a couple favorite shows are coming next month and I can’t wait! “Outer Banks” and “Virgin River“. I’m always down for new show suggestions so if you have any, send them my way!
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: Shawn and I have been listening to “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” on Audible. It’s such a good resource and has so much applicable information and life lessons in it. Honestly, I’d recommend it for everyone!
WHAT I’M WEARING: It has been super hot here in Texas so when I’m not in a swimsuit, I’m all about shorts! Here are a few pairs that I’ve been loving recently.
WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND: Shawn and I are taking Bryn to a cool place in Frisco called The Cove with my sister and her family! They have a ton of pools, a lazy river, water slides and two FlowRider surf machines. Shawn, my sister and I also have an indoor soccer game Friday night. I’m sure we’ll catch some fireworks and hit the pool this weekend as well!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH: July is actually pretty mellow for us…well at least for now. We may plan a little weekend getaway at some point, but for the most part we are hoping to be deep cleaning everything and getting moved back into our house. Fingers crossed!
