Today I’m linking up with my girls Shay and Sheaffer for another round of “What’s Up Wednesday”! These sweet gals started WUW, a little link up party where we all share what’s going on in our crazy lives right now. We talk about food, family, what we’re wearing, what we’re doing, what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post! It’s been a long time since I’ve shared and so much has happened!Let’s dive in!!
WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK: I’m excited for this week and what’s on the menu!
- Summer Minestrone with Turkey Meatballs: this stuff is and so easy to make gluten free! My hubby even loved it!
- Korean Beef Bowls: I first tried this meal awhile back and it soon became a favorite! The flavor is amazing!
- Greek Pork Pitas: If you’ve been around for awhile, you know I love Lillie Eats and Tells and that she never lets me down! These are so yummy!
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT: The super cute baby shower my mom and sisters threw me last weekend! It was simple, elegant and just my style. My mother in law and sister in law flew in for it too. We even snuck in pedicures!
WHAT I’M LOVING: I guess it’s technically a love/hate relationship with this lingering heat, but there are moments I’m thankful for it! Like when we get to go to the pool at the end of September or parks in the middle of October. We’ve definitely been soaking up the last (I hope) of the Texas heat before fall officially arrives!
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO: We moved since the last time I shared a WUW update! It’s only about 15 minutes away from our old place, but we’ve been really liking it so far! We also snuck in a little day trip to a local pumpkin patch and Bryn loved it!!
WHAT I’M DREADING: nothing right now!
WHAT I’M WORKING ON: Making some delicious new recipes! I made these yummy muffins last month and they were a huge hit with my family!
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT: Well….we’re having another baby!!! I realized that I haven’t done a WUW post since June and we announced the pregnancy in July. So yay…we’re welcoming a baby boy into our family and he’s due December 21st! Can’t wait to meet him!
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING: I’ve kind of been into rewatching shows lately rather than watching new ones. So Shawn and I have been watching Home Improvement together (always worth some good laughs) and then I’ve been watching Hart of Dixie again. I had forgotten how much I love that show!
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: Y’all, I have been in such a book rut lately! I’m terrible and haven’t been listening to books because every one I start doesn’t keep my interest! Anyone have any amazing books they’d recommend??
WHAT I’M WEARING: Well, since we’re in that time of year when Texas can’t decide if it wants to do summer or fall…I alternate back and forth between jeans and biker shorts haha! But really, one day its 60 and the next it’s back up to 90 so it’s kind of difficult to pin down a wardrobe right now. However, since I am a huge fan of fall I’ve been sneaking in some sweaters and shackets when I can. I’ve been loving this shacket from Amazon paired with a white tank and biker shorts or jeans. And this one from Amazon with a midi dress and booties!
WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND: It’s Halloween weekend and we’ve got some fun things planned! I’m so excited about our costumes this year (despite the fact that I will be 32 weeks pregnant in mine haha) and can’t wait to show y’all! We have a party and family dinner to go to and then of course trick or treating! I’m curious, do y’all do family costumes or let everyone pick their own? Tell me in the comments below!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH: Thanksgiving!! It’s one of my favorite holidays and we finally have a home to host in! Past years we have traveled, gone to other people’s homes or lived in an apartment and didn’t have space to host. So this year is our year and I’m so excited! I may or may not have created a mood board for Thanksgiving tables capes on my Pinterest. Check it out here. Also, how do y’all cook your turkeys? We’re going to smoke one this year and I’m so excited about it!
